Itie Beentjer  

Itie Beentjer has been active with music all her life, from her early youth on.
Besides a professional career in Health Care she has played in several groups, and has had various projects in musical territory.
At the age of 18 she played in het first band, the Divided People and  later got into the folk business; she also was active in the cabaret group Lollepot. She played with a friend as the Sweeties for years, begun to develop interest in classical music and formed a classical duo with a cellist as Women’s Own. Itie also directed a choir for several years. Recently she began a cooperation with Valerio Cugia as the songwriter duo Second Prime; Valerio is responsible for the lyrics and Itie composes the music and writes the arrangements.

In the 80 she began her own music company Mavis Music. From then on she composed several songs including music for poetry.
She also wrote music for educational video tapes for the health care education and also composed music for prevention spots, amongst others for Socutera.

As an autodidact Itie has been influenced enormously by all kinds of music but specially by the music of the Beatles and other songwriters from the ‘50s and ‘60s.
